55. My younger bro just picked up the freshest bike i have seen in a while. Some of you may have seen this bike in the past. George Ryan's ride from the Cannondale cut team all set up with some custom I'9 wheels. 53. Hood, was so fun (less the hospital visit after) Here is a run down of our trip. We got in pretty late with all our gear including the roof racks I had just lugged across the country but still had time to get to the Rouge brewery for a few dead guys before closing time.

On Friday we went out to Cannon Beach which I had seen in a bunch of pics and really wanted to check out. Really cool spot with signs all over the place that will freak you out if you are from the east coast. The pizza is good at Canon as well. Check out what these tornadoes did to this hillside on the way out to the beach…pretty crazy. Here are some PNW trees as well just for good measure.

We spent all of Saturday and Sunday up on Hood getting there wasn’t that much of a problem more fun than anything. Here is Matt and my brother Jay showing the rest of the parking lot the spot we were about to ride,awesome.The second day on hood couldnt have been much better, big powder pillow drops in the back bowls made my legs scream just bad enough for the red eye back to the east coast. Some left over ski shots as well from ‘Brocation’. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

52. So I am in portland and we have been skiing/riding Hood , conditions are amazing in Heather bowl today i have never had this much fun on snow. Pillow drops til my legs totally blew out, I'll post up some more pics soon. We also went out to Cannon beach which was pretty awesome here is a quick iPhone Job.

44. 12/2/2007 was the date of the 18th annual Punk Bike Enduro put on by dirt rag magazine (a national publication who happens to be local). If you have never been to the punk bike enduro it is a tough thing to understand but I will do my best to put you there. Imagine 150+ mountain bike riders on every type of mtb imaginable some sporting costumes suited up to do battle with the cold, muddy, and wet western PA hills...Add an all day time frame and multiple barrels of Troegs Brew strategically placed through the woods and you have the makings of one of the most spirited mtb events out there.

This year was by far the nastiest I have seen in the past 5 years of doing the event. The weather did not cooperate at all with freezing rain the night before and moderate showers paired with 40 degree temperatures throughout the event on Sunday. They switched up the event this year nixing the 'support' vehicles in favor of man powered support only. That is not to say that a certain blue wrx didn’t show up at points along the way with 'refreshments' but for the most part we were on our own. I took an extremely hard digger that imbedded wet clay in my face which still has my neck hurting almost to the point which would prevent me from writing this entry. All said and done it was one of the most miserable and at the same time enjoyable days i have spent on a bike. If you ever happen to be in western pa on the first Sunday of December this is one to attend, mark it on the calendar and bring the Gore-Tex.

40. I now own a Tonic Fabrications Howie. This particular bike is #5 in existence, after tons of dialogue with landon I ended up pulling the trigger on this bike which is actually a prototype the production versions will be out soon. My initial impressions are great the bike is so clean and the 'spanglish' prototype is the cleanest bb interface i have seen yet. 39. I got to drive my first ‘F-Car’ today, for those of you who aren’t hip to the lingo it’s short for Ferrari, a coworker bought one and gave me the pleasure (this particular model was 1 of 14 in the world)…

Landon @ tonic fabrications has created me a one off frame that I should have in about a week or two tons of pics once she has been born. Go check out his stuff he pays more attention to detail than any other frame manufacturer out there. It is great to work with someone who really knows quality, thanks bro.

37. So Matt lives out in portland and he has been surfing like crazy. He and another good friend of mine Scotty went out surfing last weekend and sent me unreal picture that Scotty took ON FILM. I wish i had it high res because it would make a good desktop. He followed it up with this conversation that creeped me out more. White sharks are no joke...Still convinced the PNW is the best place to live in the US though.

36. Check out the Gumball 3000 trailer for the movie coming out in November. The gumball is one of the most badass events out there…Bunch of guys with millions of dollars in cars beating them up racing across the world (it doesn’t get much better than that). I can't tell you how phsyched i am on this. Hell froze over and I made a myspace check it out.

35. We went riding out to Jersey this past weekend at Mountain Creek’s Diablo Freeride park. Coming fresh off a trip to Whistler and North Vancouver it was a bit hard to get excited to go anywhere on the east coast but I had so much fun at Diablo it might have been illegal. The only downside to the place is the ancient gondola that kept breaking on us…It gave us an opportunity to hike dominion a few time and get the jumps dialed. Oh before the riding shots check out this fine piece of engineering we ran into, I would love to meet this guy…, completely reasonable.

34. It is fall here in western PA so that means Octoberfest (ill explain later) for some reason we have been watching a bunch of Surf films, they are so far ahead of the game in film it’s ridiculous. Ben is moving to Austrailia to scratch koala’s behind the ears while drinking fosters but he was here and it was filled with mowhawks and neon peach shirts.

The interbike show is going on so I can’t get ahold of anyone to order end of season bike parts driving me nuts. Check out these photos from the animal banks jam it looks pretty incredible, if you have been to the banks you can appreciate how big the 20” guys are going.

33. I have been waiting for 7 Springs here in western PA to step it up and start a freeride program and it finally happened. My brothers, Ryan and I headed up for a day of berm blasting. One of the best parts of today was the fact that Ryan had never been on a mountain bike but has been destroying big bmx lines since he was 13, he killed it on a 24” singlespeed.

31. Matt and I are currently headed down I-5 extremely frustrated with the fact that we cannot find a Starbucks in SEATTLE! All is good though because today was the day I finally got to ride the north Shore, the Woodlot to be specific trails like Krazy Carpenter, Blood Donor, and Giant killer. These are the trails I have been drooling over since I bought my first bike back in 1996. The trails here are wet, rooty, slippery, and flat out insane, it is no wonder the riders coming out of Vancouver are the best in the world. Matt and I killed it for a bunch of yankee’s from the east coast on 4 & 5 inch bikes (which for those of you don’t ride is like bringing a knife to a gunfight), RAD. Enjoy the pictures they were a total pain in the ass to shoot.

The first pic needs some explaining, we found this drop on ‘Giant Killer’. Take a look at where Matt is standing that is the take off and just in the frame of the shot is the landing. Yes people ride that, no these people do not ride that, the hit actually gave me chills I couldn’t even stand at the edge without locking up.

30. Today was the absolute best day I have ever had on a bike. Instead of going back down to Vancouver we decided to stay up in the mountains and ride whistler one more day. Some people reading this know what the mountain is like some dont. For those of you who don't it is basically the steepest nastiest terrain in North America. Trails with names like Crack Addict, In Deep, Goats Gully, and Clown Shoes. Check out the pictures it was a day to remember.

29.Today was all about the rain, we suited up and drove up to the mountain rain gear is what it was all about .

28. Last night Matt and I Packed up the Audi And headed north through Seattle Across the Canadian border through Vancouver and headed up the sea to sky highway. We grabbed a hotel in Squamish British Columbia about 20 miles from whistler and woke up to horrible view.

27. Sitting here in Belmont Oregon , one of the cooler towns I have been to, it’s basically a giant hipster scene with more forearm tattoos, coffee shops, trendy bars and fixed geared bikes than you can imagine. Did you ever wonder what about $20,000 worth of bike, surf, camera, and computer gear looks like in a one bedroom apt, CLICK ME.

26. Well it is finally happening, I am sitting in the airport doing a wireless update to the site. Why am I sitting in the airport? Well I am headed 3000 miles away to Whistler British Columbia to ride the best mountain bike terrain in the world. I have been waiting for this since I got into the sport over 10 years ago… after some careful deliberation I made it to the PGH International, fired up the laptop, grabbed a fine irish brew and started keying. I am going to post a bunch of pics throughout the week so keep checking it out.

25. Surfing East Coast style...So this weekend I returned to the ocean to go ‘surfing’ I can hardly consider myself a surfer but I’ll be damned if I won’t go down swinging at the ocean. My roommate and good bro is a vet of riding waves and each year he has been pulling me to the dark side one wave at a time. He rips I don’t, just wait till I get you on a bike Noonan it will be the equalizer Que the evil laugh. No shots just an awesome trip lots of laughs.

Paddling around in the surf makes me realize how epic the film Sipping Jet Streams really is. If you never got off the couch you can appreciate this one. Check out the quick you tube trailer.

24. West Virginia, so my good friend Dave literally trapped a black bear, in a dumpster. The thing jumped on top, Dave waited for it to climb down in to grab some garbage, then did a 50 yard dash at the lid. Did I mention this was a damn BLACK BEAR Dave! In other news it is official 7 Springs is opening a Freeride park right outside of Pittsburgh, we had some discussions with the powers that be and it looks like I will be getting to do some promo photography for the new gravity fed mtb venue, keeping the fingers crossed. The park is slated to open labor day for the fall season you know where I will be most weekend mornings.

22. This pas weekend was really good, instead of being lazy and riding resorts we did a 5+ hour XC ride in the middle of nowhereville PA. Since it was a 'Secrete Handshake' ride the location will remain nameless but it was honestly the best trails I have ever ridden on the east coast. The greatest part was how dark it got in the pines and the hanging fog that made it feel like a scene from Pathfinder (which looks amazing). 19. So I took a pretty hard fall at Snowshoe and didn't think much of until my abdomen started to complain...Ended up in the ER where they hooked me up with this summer's must have accessories.

18. Snowshoe WV, 76 and sunny, the dirt was tacky, and the trails were completely blazing. Some of the funniest stuff imaginable happened like Sean getting ex-wife mad at his bike for breaking on our '2 more skip the last' run, Dave flying out of nowhere and doing a gainer into a pile of weeds, and a little kid that looked like Mick Jagger (odd). Sean pointed out that I have pink shirt frat boy steez and of course I argued the point all weekend until he was going through my camera on the way home and found this, Sean - 1 Me - 0 I lose. 17. Sean and I went down to Wisp in Maryland to do some DH and I didnt take one shot because we were to busy riding 10-4. Good Day.

16.Took the bikes out for a quick photoshoot with the 1.8 Canon lens every photog should have one. I am finally nailing shots like I want Evil Sovereign, Transition Bottlerocket and a bunch of Pittsburgh slop that would make a great desktop.

15. No.Port Orange FL was awesome, it has been forever since I have had a vacation just sitting around and doing absolutely nothing. Did i mention we stayed in a housing community with it's own airport where everyone has thier own airplane hanger, yeah well I did right down the street from John Travolta. Beach and some Cards... We got the car stuck in a sand bank at an all you can eat crab place, it resulted in the first ever usage of a Hummer H2 for it's designed purpose. Props.

07. Fruita Colorado, Matt and I stopped in at one of the greatest riding spots in North America. The temp was perfect, trails were incredible and i dont really feel like writing much so here are a ton of pics enjoy.1,2,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

05. Fresh powder in PA, I bought very $$$ Nokian snow tires and we hit the mountain. The Bora is set up for the cold as of now looks like a police car. here is a video of the trek up the mountain, this is pavement.
